Menelith Lamps

Mene comes from the Greek word for moon also referring to Selene, the Greek moon goddess, while Lith comes from Lithos which means stone. These lamps create a mythical atmosphere like floating through the lunar landscape with colourful rocks emitting the moon light.

This series of lamps is made from sustainable and biodegradable materials. The rocks are basket woven with my own (previously developed) bioplastic-waste-yarn material. The lunar landscape on which the rock is resting is made from an eggshell based biomaterial which gives it a rock like structure.

Each piece is one of a kind because of the different batches of waste yarn that I incorporate in my work. Even the lunar landscapes look different because they are all handmade and I play around while pouring them in the mould.

Each piece costs 350 euros incl. tax. Since they are one of a kind please email me if interested.
